Mr. Whitworth was appointed interim Chairman in April 2013. Mr. Whitworth has been a principal of Relational Investors LLC, a registered investment advisor, since 1996. He also is a former director of Genzyme Corporation, Sovereign Bancorp, Inc., Sprint Nextel Corporation and seven other public companies.
